COLOR THEORY 2

Remember Color Theory 1 way back in February? I figure it's high time for another one!

Top photos from A Go/Go under "Just a Girl" | Bottom photo is one of my abstract paintings

Isn't that funny when you find something you love and are able to find similarities in other products? I thought to myself, "Oooh! These photos go nicely with this already finished painting!" This abstract was actually an accident. I was planning on painting a realistic seascape, but I loved what was happening on the canvas, so I kept with the complete nonrealistic effect. Before the summer of 2011, actually, I wasn't exactly in love with abstract paintings. I just didn't get them. In my case, it took a type of "letting go" of my tendencies to come to terms with the appreciation of abstract art.

What about you? Has your taste taken a turnaround as well?

Anyway, I plan on doing another painting with the pops of color in those gorgeous photos! Should be fun. :)

OK, I'm sure if I tried to wear that top and skirt, it would look terrible on me, but it looks amazing on that model!

Jess: Yeah, I agree with you! I think if I were wear that, I'd be sucking in all day. I just LOVE those colors, though!

Sarah: I agree on the difficulty! Thank you so much! You're so sweet to say that.

Anna: Aren't the colors stunning? I love how they just blend together so well. I have no idea what I'll be liking in 6 months! I'm always astounded at all the art, design and photography I come across now. Thank you very much! That's definitely what I was going for. :)

Beina: Aw, thanks lovely! Me too!! They even have new leaves growing in. :) That's awesome! That sounds like such an interesting topic. I would think that religion has a correlation, but then again, you never really know until you have all the facts backed up. I'd love to hear about your findings!

Spanish Pinay: You are the sweetest! Thank you so much!!

Ana: Aw! Thank you, thank you!! I adore painting abstracts now that I'm finally starting to "get them." I love the fact that people have such different viewpoints on these types of paintings. This one was definitely one of my most favorite accidents.
